How to Setup SSL on Your WordPress Website

Configuring your website for HTTPS/SSL

Hostmatrix includes SSL certificates on all hosting accounts.

SSL is automatically setup overnight on your hosting account once your domain is pointing to our servers. Your domain needs to be pointing to our servers before SSL can be installed.

Once your SSL certificate is active you will be able to access your website via:

  • http://www.yourdomain.com.au
  • https://www.yourdomain.com.au
  • http://yourdomain.com.au
  • https://yourdomain.com.au

Configuring your WordPress website for HTTPS/SSL

Update your WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL)

Login to your WordPress dashboard and on the left menu go to Settings -> General

 

Edit your WordPress Address and your Site Address and change http to https

 

Visit your site and you should now see a padlock next to your URL in the browsers Address bar. Click the padlock see to the details.

Above is how Google Chrome shows your https address. Chrome now uses a grey padlock instead of a green one.
